UPDATE from City of Saskatoon:
INTERSECTION at 33rd St W and Avenue D North:
1) The good news is that we’re back on track and we expect the new traffic signals to be operational by Tuesday, June 12th.
2) Road users may notice that the operation of the new signals has been modified to improve the intersection safety. North and south approaches on Avenue D will have separate signal phases and the right-turn-on-red from Avenue D onto 33rd Street will be prohibited.
3) In addition to the signal install at 33rd Street and Avenue D, the City is in the process of installing an active pedestrian corridor at 33rd Street and Avenue C. This pedestrian device will enable pedestrians to activate a crosswalk that includes a flashing amber beacon alert for drivers. This corridor installation is expected to start within the next couple of weeks and the work will be completed by the end of June.
